William Sparks died from wounds on 23rd May, 1915, after having been brought back to the United Kingdom but as yet, there is no information as to when and where he was wounded. The 1st Rifle Brigade battalion was part of 11 Brigade, 4th Division, that had been on the Western front since the start of the war and had been in action durting the Second Battle of Ypres in A|pril and May of 1915. |
